: Description
This project was focused on the development of robotic equipment for the manufacturing of fiber optic integrated devices based in microoptics for the telecommunication and the structural health monitoring industries. The global performance of the system was assessed through the implementation of a particular microoptic device – a tunable filter – with large application in optical telecommunication networks.The project allowed the adoption of automation concepts in the early stages of the prototype development and of the pre-industrial production of optoelectronic components, thus strongly reducing the duration of the product cycle from development to market.
