MAIA, Portugal, 3. March 2010 - FiberSensing today announced that it has received the ISO 9001:2008 Quality Management certification for design, development, commercialization, production, assembly and after sales assistance of fiber optic sensors and measurement systems.
FiberSensing has been awarded the ISO9001:2008 certification by IQNet - The International Certification Network and APCER – Associação Portuguesa de Certificação, which have determined that the company has implemented and maintains a Quality Management System that meets the requirements of the standard ISO NP EN 9001:2008.
ISO 9001:2008 CERTIFICATION
ISO 9001:2008 is the internationally recognized industry standard for Quality Management Systems (QMS). Certification is only obtained after thorough analysis and evaluation by an independent and accredited auditor. To achieve certification an organization needs to demonstrate compliance with statutory and regulatory requirements, consistency, quality in products, processes and records, and a commitment to continual improvement and customer satisfaction.
Through ISO 9001:2008 certification, the auditing bodies certify that FiberSensing meets these requirements, culminating a 12 month effort which included hundreds of hours of training and work sessions.
